Is to create solutions for sustainable consumption and production. Our Purpose Is to create solutions for sustainable consumption and production.

Who we are Standard development & Certification The only independent, not-for-profit, advisory and ecolabelling organisation in Australia. We’re purpose driven. The first and only not-for-profit and eco label to be Certified B Corp. Our standards are respected and recognised through many green building programs, and referenced in numerous sustainable procurement guidelines. Our third party auditors are JAS-ANZ accredited. Globally recognised & the only GEN member in Australia.

What we do We provide solutions for sustainable consumption and production through: Innovation Education- including training & advocacy Consultation Certification We develop robust standards for manufacturers & have certified over 3500 products and services.

GEN members GECA is the only Australian ecolabel with GENICES recognition from the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).

Our standards Our standards address environmental attributes such as toxicity, multiple, air quality, energy use, recyclability, VOC’s, carcinogens, reducing water consumption and minimising material usage. They also consider impacts across the entire life-cycle of a product or service, from raw material extraction through to use and eventual disposal or breakdown.

Our ecolabel Type 1 ecolabel based on the ISO 14024. Type 1 ecolabels are multi-criteria, multi-sectoral, overall environmental preference based on life-cycle considerations. Our standards and ecolabel covers not only environmental criteria, but also health and social/ethical impacts and ensures fit for purpose.

GECA certification Process Timing The time required for the Audit Process, Stage 3 is variable and can be anywhere between 1-3 months. Pricing The initial auditing cost and re-audit (every 3 years) is payable to external JAS-ANZ accredited third party auditors, except for the annual license fee. The aim of our pricing model is to make GECA certification achievable and fair for all business sizes. The fee is reflective only of your GECA certified products.
