Bayard Rustin

Facts about Bayard Rustin Born in 1912 in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Rustin went to two different university, Welberford University and Cheyney University of Pennsylvania He was openly gay He co-operated with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He fought for civil rights He died in 1987 at the age of 75

Bayard`s life He was raised by his grandparents. Rustin fought for non-violent protests, civil rights and gay rights. In 1942 he was arrested for sitting in a ”white” busseat, but he didn`t go to jail. In 1953 he was arrested for being gay. He organised the march on Washington 1963. In 2013 he was awarded the medal of freedom by Obama, eventhought he is dead.

Bayard Iconic Black Person Bayards impact on black rights was big, he did many protest without violence, and the fact that he was gay, made him more agenized. He has been acknowledged by many big people.
