Factors Affecting Solution Formation Pre-Lab Questions

Particle Size Make a prediction: Which type of particles will dissolve faster, small-sized ones or large-sized ones?

Mixing/Stirring/Agitation Make a prediction: Will stirring make a solution form faster, slower, or have no effect?

Temperature Make a prediction: Will a solution form faster in cold water or hot water?

In lab… Test each of your predictions. Be prepared to explain the results in terms of the kinetic theory.

Lab Data… Write a detailed procedure for your experiment. Include a data table for each of your experiments. Write a clear, English conclusion sentence describing what you learn and compare it to your original predictions.
