Single VS. Dual mode smartphones Dual Mode - A Smartphone that can use both the cellular and WiFi networks to obtain data and or voice. Single Mode - A Smartphone that can only use the cellular network to obtain data and voice. Misconception – Smartphones that are WiFi enabled can support SIP (e.g. Dual mode Blackberries do not support SIP) Misconception – Single mode phones cannot be used for a complete UC experience
