Year-at-a-glance: Fit4kids will be implemented during the school year as follows: 1st Quarter: Once a week 2nd Quarter: Twice a week 3rd Quarter: Three times a week 4th Quarter: Four times a week *the subjects will rotate each week and on the last week of each quarter they will have four active lessons*

Math: Split the class into groups of 4 students and then give each group a set of notecards – they should NOT look at the cards. The first person up will flip one card (without looking at it) and hold it up to their head. The words should be facing their group members. Without speaking, each group member will draw a triangle or angle (whatever the card says) on their whiteboard. Explain that if the card says “Right Triangle”, students in the group need to draw their best right triangle so the person can guess the word that is on their head. They must wait until all students are done drawing. On the count of 3, all students in the group show their player the pictures. The person must guess what kind of angle or triangle is on their forehead. When they get it right, all students in the group will do an exercise. They will then rotate, until everyone has had a chance to guess the card.

Science: Assign each child to a group of 3-4 and give them definitions of the rock types and cycle. Have them run, skip, hop, etc... to find the matching vocab word. Then bring back the definition and discuss as a group if answer is correct, and then repeat. After everything is defined, find a picture of the rock that goes with it. Then talk as a group about how each is transformed into each other. Do movements along with the process. Melting: crouch to the floor in a wave motion. Weathering: spin around and shake arms. Heat/Pressure: hug self and jump up and down. Cooling: fan self and stretch to cool down

Language Arts Activity Procedure: 1. Push desks against the wall and have students place their chairs in a circle. 2. The teacher will place a large index card on each seat, and each student will place a pen or pencil on their chair. 3. The teacher will start the music and students will begin walking around the chairs. 4. When the music stops, students pick up the index card and write a first sentence on the card. 5. The music starts again, and the students begin skipping around the chairs. 6. When the music stops, they pick up the card on that chair and write a sentence that would come after the previous sentence. 7. The process repeats itself about 5 or six times, with different activities, such as hopping and galloping. 8. The last round, the teacher will announce to the class the last sentence needs to somewhat of an ending for the paragraph on the cards.

Social Studies: Regions of North America SOL Standard: USI.2 1.Assign each region an exercise (Coastal Plain= crab walk, Appalachian Mountains= bear crawl, Canadian Shield= jumping jacks, Interior Lowlands= jog, Great Plains= gallop, Rocky Mountains= mountain climbers, Basin and Range= criss-cross jump, and Coastal Range= surf) 2.Hang up a large map of North America, with the regions outlined, and point to the different regions, have the students act out movement for the selected region. 3.When the students have mastered the map with the regions use a map without the regions labeled and instead point to states so they can act out the movement for the region that the state is in.

Adaptive Lesson First we would check all IEP’s. If the child needs further instruction, provide one-on-one feedback. Assist the child in acting out the movements. If the activity proves to be too challenging, assign the child a buddy.
