OTS I – Pentateuch – Deuteronomy Overview 5th book of the Bible Name means: “second law” 4 main sections: Israel’s journey reviewed God’s Law expounded Israel’s future revealed Moses’ ministry concluded

OTS I – Pentateuch – Deuteronomy – Review Israel’s Journey Reviewed (Deuteronomy 1-4) The unfaithful generation has died. The journey from Sinai to Kadesh is reviewed. The journey from Kadesh to Moab is reviewed. History used to show the results of faith and obedience and doubt and disobedience.

OTS I – Pentateuch – Deuteronomy - Law God’s Law Expounded (Deuteronomy 5-26) The 10 Commandments revisited (Deuteronomy 5) Commandments 1 & 2 explained (Deuteronomy 6-11) Commandments 3-10 (Deuteronomy 12-22) Essential for pleasing God daily and success in Canaan Israel’s journey from Egypt and sojourn at Sinai referenced frequently 27 separate references to Israel’s obedience are made in this section.

Curses Pronounced for Disobedience 54 verses cover the complete cursing of Israel. The curses are a direct contrast to the blessings before them and are in greater detail.
