INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL The IQAC was established in our College on 23-04-2012. The purpose of the IQAC is to ensure quality of teaching, learning skills, infrastructure and facilities. It interacts with Students, Teachers and Management to ensure co-ordination for quality maintenance. The IQAC team analyzes and ensures if the facilities which are given to the students are adequate or not. IQAC team is always receptive to new ideas generated for improvement in the quality of education and research for Higher Education.

VISION OF IQAC To make quality the defining element of higher education through a combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance initiatives.

MISSION OF IQAC To stimulate the academic environment of promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research in campus. To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations. To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy and training programmes. To make familiar and used to with the latest technological developments in the field of information communication.

GOAL OF IQAC To facilitate academic excellence in the Institution. To work on strategies and ensure the implementation of objectives to build the institution that will stand as a beacon of light in the field of learning.

FUNCTIONING OF IQAC IQAC ushering in continuous improvement of the institution by working out intervention strategies to enhance quality. Provision of student’s hostel, canteen and sports facility. A girls` hostel is under construction funded by UGC in 11th plan. Canteen is in function. Students (girls and boys) are participating regularly in the university tournaments and achieving good results for the college. Starting of new under graduate programs of local needs like Painting, Maithili culture, tourism, computer application etc. PAINTING – A MOU with a renowned and awarded NGO “USHA KALA KENDRA, JITAWARPUR, MADHUBANI” to train our students for the internationally famous MITHILA “MADHUBANI” PAINTING. MAITHILI CULTURE – Small tours organized for interested students to nearby villages to get acquainted and observe the rich Maithili Culture and also there have been regular counseling to all students regarding our rich Maithili Culture. TOURISM – Nothing has been done remarkably only accept the promotion of MITHILA “MADHUBANI” PAINTING by words of mouth. COMPUTER APPLICATION – A letter of request to the university administration for the starting of BCA course made and there after few reminders but haven’t got the permission yet.

Introduction courses in Fine Arts and Home science. For Fine Arts & Home Science, a letter of request to the university administration for the starting of courses made and there after few reminders but haven’t got the permission yet. Motivation for girls to join the college by introducing women oriented courses. A large no of girl students turn out since 1st Cycle and the NGO referred above use to give special classes weekly to girl students for Cloth Stitching & sewing courses. Organization of more cultural and literary activity. Inter class folk & cultural competitions, essay competitions, debate competitions, group discussions etc organized regularly. Attraction of more fund by donation or otherwise. Donation from the legislative persons for infrastructural development received.

1. CURRICULUM Designing and updating curriculum done by the University Our faculties pro-actively participate in curriculum preparation in the capacity of Member, Syllabus Board, Academic Council, Syndicate & Senate . Feedback from the stakeholders such as:- Students Retired Teachers Alumni Guardians Academic Peers of Society. To make the curriculum in tune with the emerging national and global trends and relevant to the local needs .

CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION Regular monitoring of the completion of syllabus done by the Co-ordinator and Chairperson of the IQAC. Issues discussed in the parent-teacher meet. Curriculum displayed on display board, through induction classes and also on website of the College.

2. TEACHING- LEARNING Contribution of IQAC in improving teaching-learning process. Computers with internet facility:- In computer Lab & Library. Use of ICT has been implemented in the teaching-learning process. Special Classes:- To improve the communication skills of the students. Self Study Component:- Incorporated in all the Departments.

Bridging the gap between rural-urban background students :- Through special and remedial classes by the concerned departments. Mentor System Department wise mentor system enforced:- Based on the subject and classes and also on the basis of the practical batches they handle. Rally on AIDS awareness. Tree Plantation Programme. Paryavaran Suraksha Abhiyan. Pulse Polio Immunization Programme.

5. STUDENT-CENTRIC LEARNING The IQAC has tried to make learning student-centric by adopting the following methods:- Providing text and reference books for self study. Quiz and Group Discussions. Practical and Project work. Library, ICT and Internet facility. By making available e-learning resources. Continuously upgraded by providing new Books. Regularly subscribing Research Journals and Periodicals. A total no. of 8000 books and more than 15 Journals/Periodicals are present in the Central Library of the College.

6. GOVERNANCE & INNOVATIVE EFFORTS IQAC establishes procedures and modalities to collect data for information as various administrative & innovative efforts of Institutional functioning. Efficient and effective governance provided through decentralization of work in the form of constituting various policy/decision making bodies such as:- IQAC Grievance Redressal Cell. Anti Ragging Committee. Women Cell.

IQAC looks into innovative efforts carried out in the institution for academic excellence. Establishes relationship among stakeholders. ICT has been introduced. Internet facility through Wi-Fi connectivity. Ramps constructed to enable “Divyang” Students. Installation of CCTV to monitor smooth functioning. Adoption of Solar Energy System for saving the energy.

7. INNOVATIONS & BEST PRACTICES The Institution has adopted measures for Saving Energy. Eco-friendly campus. Rain-water & waste-water harvesting. Trees and herbs have been maintained in the campus. Adoption of Solar Energy System.
