(and soon you will too) Presented by: Elizabeth Leimbach I love Bloomz! (and soon you will too) Presented by: Elizabeth Leimbach

Meet Bloomz Bloomz is a new app that helps me better communicate with parents, sending real-time updates from the classroom, coordinating events (PT Conferences!) and requesting for volunteer help. Why Bloomz? Improves communication with parents Involves parents in classroom activities Creates community around classroom Saves teachers time

Posting updates is a snap! Send quick updates from the classroom I can attach pictures, files, add links (e.g. youtube videos!) Get work done ahead of time by scheduling posts for later

It’s great for time sensitive matters I can pin important announcements for a specific periods of time Alerts send notifications to both the parents’ phone (TXT or Push Notification) and email address – so it’s more likely they’ll read them

I can have real-time conversations with parents I can message parents without sharing my cell phone number 1-to-1 or 1-to-Many conversations I can keep a history of all conversations in one place

My Class Calendar is always up to date All class/school events in one place Bloomz has built-in reminders – so parents don’t forget! Parents can RSVP Import from external calendars (ical, google, etc)

PT Conferences and Volunteer Sing-ups! Easy for me to set conferences or requests and let parents do the signup Fully customizable templates – date/time, duration, blocked times Flexible volunteer requests for items or people

I am always in control Class is invite-only – so I know who has access to it Members view, allows me to mute or remove as well as give different permissions (room-parent, class admin, etc) I can invite other teachers to join me in my class!

And many other great things! Parents can be reached in email, phone or SMS/Text Translates content for parents – to over 80 languages! Bloomz is private and secure

With Bloomz, teachers like me save a ton of time

Inviting Parents Two ways to invite parents: Via email: Via Class Code Enter emails manually Copy/Paste them from a spreadsheet (Excel) Use your default email app Via Class Code Enable Class Code in your class settings Print out instructions and hand/email them to parents Power tip: Email invitations will immediately add parents to your distribution list, so you can start posting immediately and they will get notifications via email

Other popular tips from teachers: Profile Pictures Upload yours and ask parents for theirs too, it’s a great way to start a community around your classroom School accounts Great way to keep all teachers and parents at school on the same page They are free too! Room Parents Great way to get help and keep parents on top – invite them or change their role in their profile Notifications Go to profile settings and customize your notifications to your liking Sign up for tips and tricks and news from Bloomz for more help!
