Write down 5 things that would motivate you in a job or at school

Motivation Definition – The desire to see a job done quickly and well The best motivated workers will help an organisation achieve its objectives as cost effectively as possible. Employers need to know what their employees’ goals are so that they can help them achieve them while helping the organisation.

Write 3 reasons why it is important to motivate your staff

It is important to motivate your staff so that there is… Increased labour productivity Better attendance from staff Low labour turnover More cooperation from staff so they are open to change A better quality of work

List some indications of poor staff motivation Deliberate high abstenteeism Lateness Poor performance – poor quality, low levels of or greater waste of materials. Accidents – lack of concentration or distract others Labour turnover Increase in the number of grievances, more union disputes. Poor response rate – slow to follow orders/instructions.

Motivation Theories You are going to be researching and reporting on the different Motivation theories. You will be given until end of the lesson on Thursday Period 2 to complete Power Point presentation on the given task. Tomorrow and Wednesday’s lesson you need to be gathering information from text books to help. Thursday’s lesson is in T11 to complete your work. You need to start your presentation at home or after school in the labs. You will then email me the presentation for me to mark.
