Parents Teachers Association Welcome 2017-2018 Parents Teachers Association

Welcome to La Fontaine Village Background La Fontaine Academy was started by a group of parents who were looking to create an excellent school that championed language learning as a path for child development, academic excellence and community This is why parents, and the PTA, are very much involved in the running of the school This has allowed the school to be much more than a school in less than 3 years. It is now a strong community – a ‘village’ Welcome to La Fontaine Village

What is the PTA La Fontaine Academy’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a registered charity (159492) run entirely by volunteers. Work with parents and school to identify fundraising priorities Raise money to support all students attending LFA Run a variety of cultural and community events throughout the school year that bring parents together, promote good communication between parents and staff and enhance the wellbeing our children http://www.ptalafontaine.org.uk/

Fundraising As a new school, we are still building up the bank of long-term resources from which more established schools benefit. We have big plans for innovative offerings for all students, beyond what is funded in the core curriculum, including music and sports. We have a dedicated team of parents with professional expertise, focused on running an efficient, effective fundraising program. There are many ways to get involved, through donations of time or money, and we aim to make it as easy as possible for every family to participate. http://www.ptalafontaine.org.uk/funded-by-the-pta/

Get involved What would you like to see in the school for your children Join the PTA Committee which runs our day to day operations Put yourself forward as a Class Representative; we need some for Reception classes Join the Event Committee or just volunteer on an ad hoc basis at PTA events throughout the year – events are not possible without wider parent participation Make a donation Get your company to sponsor a school activity e.g. sport Email us at contact@ptalafontaine.org.uk with your ideas and suggestions – we may not be able to action them all but we can support you to get an initiative up and running. New parents, new ideas, La Fontaine Academy continues to evolve

School run sharing Classlist map for lift sharing Walking bus We encourage all forms of school run sharing, to decrease the number of car journeys made each day, ease congestion around the school, and make the best use of very limited parking places. Classlist map for lift sharing Provides a simple forum to contact and coordinate with other parents who live near you and would like to share lifts. Walking bus We are working with Bromley Council to investigate potential plans for safe, reliable walking bus routes. If you would like to help lead the walking bus, or would like your child to participate, please register your interest with the PTA, as understanding the scale of the need will help us in the planning stages.

Thank you for listening Your turn! questions and feedback are welcome
