Introduction As you are aware, we have just completed reading The Crucible by Arthur Miller. We have had many classroom discussions throughout this reading. One particular classroom discussion we are going to take another look at is how we can apply The Crucible to our lives and society today. This project will take some creativity on your part and, I believe, fun. Shall we get started?

Group Participation I will assign the groups you will be working in. Everyone in each group is expected to participate. There is a participation grade with this project. Each member of the group will have a job to do. At the end of the project, there will be peer evaluations.

Three Strike Policy Student is not participating in their group = strike 1 If caught again not participating in their group = strike 2 Not participating in their group and being disruptive = strike 3 Student gets three strikes, they have to work on the project alone. Project is worth one test grade.

Project creatively interprets the quote and maximizes on participants’ talents. Captures audience attention. Completely fulfills or exceeds vision stated in proposal. All members clearly contribute.

Requirements (con’t) Project handles the quote masterfully and enhances audience’s understanding of the play. Flawless mechanics in oral/written language. Informal language use is purposeful, i.e. in dialogue.
