2017-18 Collegiate DECA Reminders All Collegiate DECA written events will have a maximum of 15 content pages allowed (not necessarily including appendix.) All Collegiate DECA written events will have TWO evaluation forms. One for the written entry and one for the oral presentation. Each is worth 50 points. An executive summary has beem added to the Advertising Campaign Event. The position statement has been removed. Executive summaries for all written events will be 1-2 pages in length. Single Space is OK. In all case studies and business simulations, a personal or laptop computer/handheld digital devices, resources, and outside materials can be used in the presentation and presentation time. The intent is to allow technology and other outside resources in the Business Simulations For ALL competitive events, Internet access will be allowed during preparation and presentation periods, but not provided by DECA. This is a little risky and I would recommend screenshots.

2016-17 Collegiate DECA Reminders All prepared presentation events will have a 20-minute presentation time, to include time needed for setup. The International Sales Challenge and National Management Institute will be renamed. New names are Sales Challenge and Management Institute All Business Simulations tests will be given prior to the State Conference as well as either prior to or during ICDC. For 2017-2018, a team case study focused on marketing communications and public relations will be added as a new offering. Participant tasks could include: Crisis Communication and Response Marketing Communication Special Communication Projects/Campaigns 2 participants for this team case study

Below is the Business Research Topic for the 2017-2018 Collegiate DECA year. This topic is also the center of Collegiate DECA’s ENGAGE conference and program. The 2017-2018 topic is the development or enhancement of an online presence management strategy. Students will collaborate with a local business or organization to analyze the company’s current online presence and how it impacts the company’s brand. Students will then develop and present a plan to improve or implement the online presence management strategy.

2018-2019 Discussion Points Banquet or no banquet Location – needs to have FREE conference space – preferably a school. Dates Other suggestions
