16  Start-up Business Plan Event  1 student  Maximum of 11 pages  Compete at Districts  15 mins presentation to judge with a visual  Provides an opportunity for the student to develop and present a proposal to form a business. Written Events cont.

17  Independent Business Plan Event  1-3 students work together  Maximum of 30 pages  Automatically go to STATES  15 mins presentation to judge with a visual  Prepare a written proposal for a new business. Request financing for the proposal in a role playing interview with a bank or venture capital official Written Events cont.

18  International Business Plan Event  1-3 students work together  Maximum of 30 pages  Automatically go to STATES  15 mins presentation to judge with a visual  Involves the development of a proposal to start a new business venture in an international setting. Written Events cont.

Options to grow include franchising, expanding into new markets, opening a second location, licensing agreements, merging with or acquiring another business, diversifying product lines, forming strategic alliances with other businesses, expanding to the internet, etc. Written Events cont.

20  Franchise Business Plan Event  1 student  Maximum of 30 pages  Automatically go to STATES  15 mins presentation to judge with a visual  Present a comprehensive business plan proposal to buy into an existing franchise. Written Events cont.

21  Advertising Campaign Event  1 -3 students work together  Maximum of 11 pages  Exam  Districts  15 mins presentation to judge with a visual  Prepare an advertising campaign for any real product, service, company or business and to present the campaign to a prospective client/advertiser.
