Introduction S.E.A. offers unique mass transportation system known as CarLina CarLina is an elevated transportation system causing no pollution and no traffic jams Passenger movement 60,000 per hour Commercial speed 36 km/hour in congested areas and 60 km per hour in open space Waiting time – 1 minute 5

Open Standard Model Technical specifications to suit the local conditions Suppliers of car and other products identified Cars can be designed for passenger or for freight up to 1 tonne load Certification parameters yet to be defined 6

Aspect A light, yet high throughput apparatus 7

Specifications Large throughput Typ waiting time 1mn, 36 to 60km/h 24/7 operation, deterministic Car-like comfort level Scheduled traffic, taxi-mode marginal Automatic parcels/freight delivery V4 V6 Basic (50%) 36k/h 54k/h AIDA optimized (75%) 80k/h 8

Typical Track Configuration 1. Trackways construction Two standard UPE300 "rails", elevated to 3-4m on steel support poles 30cm in diameter, one every ten to twelve meters. Anchoring depending on ground and requirements, including applicable anti-seismic regulations. Anchors, nails, minipiles may be used depending on soils. Rails are soldered forming a seamless way. Dilation is absorbed by drifting piles. 2. Stations Stations can be as close as 100m to each other, from minimal stations docking one pod at a time with simple 1-story staircase, to any more complex configuration. 3. Switches Though a line can be built without switches, for example a just linear network, once people start to use it a demand immediately rises for crossing lines to form a lattice, or meshed network. Contrary to metro lines the CarLina system allows lattice networks for point-to-point trips. CarLina switches are passive and pods choose their route like cars on a road, so while they look like a mini railway it is more of guided autonomous cars, where comes the name Car – Line. 4. Slope/obstacle clearing CarLina pods can climb a 10% slope, and >10m gap clearing capacity allowing deployment without ground preparation other than planting piles.

PODs PODs to be imported as there is no manufacturer in India Passenger cabin and freight bins to be designed suiting local requirements 4 passengers in a cabin (+ enlarged 6 passengers version) Number of pods depends on traffic profile and scheduling e.g. isotropic + 13.5km linear network → 300 to 500 pods Reservation-based → 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of pods needed in "taxi" mode 10

Operations Smart card and normal tickets to be made available To tie-up with metro and bus service so that same smart card can be used 11

Certification Certification authority in India to be decided To examine whether CMSR (for metro trains) will be authorised to do certification 12

Energy / Pollution Saver Very low energy consumption (typ. 50Wh/passenger.km) Meshed network capacity: designed for point-to-point missions in complex networks No control centre required Automatic system 13
