Term 2, Week 4, Lesson 2 Anglo Saxon clothing L.O.: To compare an aspect of Anglo-Saxon life to life in the UAE. Success Criteria: GREEN: I will be able to recognise what clothing Anglo Saxons wore. YELLOW/BLUE: I will identify why Anglo Saxons wore particular clothing. RED: I will be able to identify the differences in regional styles of Anglo Saxon clothing. .

People wore clothes made from woollen cloth or animal skins. L.O.: To compare an aspect of Anglo-Saxon life to life in the UAE Anglo Saxon clothing People wore clothes made from woollen cloth or animal skins. Men wore tunics, with tight trousers or leggings, wrapped around with strips of cloth or leather. Women wore long dresses. Women spun the wool from sheep and goats to make thread.

L.O.: To compare an aspect of Anglo-Saxon life to life in the UAE How to tell the difference... Clothing styles were different in each kingdom. Anglian woman fastened her dress with a long brooch. A Saxon woman used a round brooch. These clothes were made out of natural fibres like wool, flax (linen) and cotton. We still use these fibres today to make clothes but back in those days, they were the only types of material available to everyone.

Plenary: Design a second paper doll, dressed in typical UAE clothing. TTYP: What are the similarities and differences between both dolls? Add your Anglo-Saxon figure to your village.
