Student Services Office Provides a variety of academic services that address your student’s needs. This is where you will find the undergraduate and graduate advising team. Academic Alerts Academic alerts are a way for professors to update students & advisors on student progress. Attending class Submitting assignments on time Devoting time to out-of-class preparation Doing well on quizzes/exams/labs Actively participating in class By mid September: First exams in many classes are given, and alerts begin coming in from professors

Important Dates and Resources September 4: Labor Day - RIT closed September 5 : Last day to drop classes (talk to advisor first!) October 9-20: Mid-term - sometimes stressful for students in their first term, when planning for exams and projects October 9-10: Columbus Day - No Classes, RIT open Week of October 30: Shopping Carts Open - Students should have already met with their advisors to discuss spring schedule November 10: Last day to withdraw from classes; “W” will be on transcript Week of November 13: Enrollment for Spring occurs. Most new student appointments likely towards end of the week November 22-26: Thanksgiving Break December 8: Last day of classes December 12: Reading Day December 13-19: Final Exams - Students can view final exam schedule within the first month of classes to check on conflicts or too many exams on the same day
