Student Services Office Provides a variety of academic services that address your student’s needs. This is where you will find the undergraduate and graduate advising team. OFFICE HOURS Monday through Thursday: 8 am – 5 pm Friday: 8 am - 4:30 pm (585) 475-7935 studentservices@saunders.rit.edu The Student Services Team will request that the student be present and participate during communication with parents or third parties. Academic & Faculty Advising Academic Advisors Ensure clear understanding of program requirements Assess progression towards completion of requirements Work collectively with students to map out educational goals Provide referrals Faculty Advisors Advise on co-ops Discussion professions, careers goals and opportunities Suggest specialized electives in subject area

Academic Alerts Academic alerts are a way for professors to update students & advisors on student progress. Attending class Submitting assignments on time Devoting time to out-of-class preparation Doing well on quizzes/exams/labs Actively participating in class By mid September: First exams in many classes are given, and alerts begin coming in from professors

Important Dates and Resources September 4: Labor Day - RIT closed September 5 : Last day to drop classes (talk to advisor first!) October 9-20: Mid-term - sometimes stressful for students in their first term, when planning for exams and projects October 9-10: Columbus Day - No Classes, RIT open Week of October 30: Shopping Carts Open - Students should have already met with their advisors to discuss spring schedule November 10: Last day to withdraw from classes; “W” will be on transcript Week of November 13: Enrollment for Spring occurs. Most new student appointments likely towards end of the week November 22-26: Thanksgiving Break December 8: Last day of classes December 12: Reading Day December 13-19: Final Exams - Students can view final exam schedule within the first month of classes to check on conflicts or too many exams on the same day
