ROLE OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD The YAB consists of 29 young volunteers aged 15 – 25 from different backgrounds and circumstances who are aware of the problems facing young people in today’s society and who are interested in an opportunity to do something positive about these issues. Their role: Key governance and project feature of IARS that meets on a regular basis to scrutinize, quality control and monitor our work, and advise on our strategy. YAB members are awarded with a certificate for their active participation at the end of the project and they are provided with bespoke and tailored training that will allow them to genuinely get involved in projects and our governance. ROLE OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD IN YEIP Activity 1.7: Support with the development of the peer-review research 1 youth-led policy seminar conducted per country attended by representatives of our public authority partners and 20 experts from research, policy, academia and young people to present national findings of the research protocol (all partners). A youth-led focus group conducted in the UK by IARS to review the research protocol and comparative report. Focus groups will be led by trained young researchers who will be supported by a member of their national research team. Followed by Activity 1 and Activity 2

ROLE OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD IN YEIP Activity 2.1 – Leading on the field trials Organise a 2-day capacity building training event for young people on youth-led research methods. All partners Activity 2.2 –Support the research team Peer researcher will support the research team to conduct primary research in four environments ?(e.g Universities, Youth Offending Institutions, schools, and online. Guides for observations, questionnaires and themes for the focus groups will be co-designed with YEIP’s young researchers. Activity 2.5 – Scrutinize the Prevent Model In a 2 full day focus groups that will be organised by the IARS International Institute the Youth Advisory Board and the Women’s Advisory Board will review the Prevent Model Followed by Activity 1 and Activity 2

ROLE OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD IN YEIP Activity 3.2. Field trials (“observed”) in 4 controlled environments The Youth Advisory Board will lead on the observation of the field, organising 1 youth-led focus group, half-day duration and 15 people per field trial environment Activity 3.5. Review of the revised Prevent model The revised PREVENT model/ intervention, toolkit and national reports will be reviewed by the IARS Youth Advisory Board and the IARS Women’s User Board in 2 full day focus groups that will be organised by the IARS International Institute. ROLE OF THE YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD IN YEIP Activity 4.1 Quality Assurance of the quantitative Triangulation of YEIP The Youth Advisory Board will support the development of the UK triangulation survey and Will be responsible foe the quality assurance of the surveys disseminated across Europe to ensure that appropriate language is used, questionnaires are youth friendly etc. WorkPackage 5: Support the development of YEIP’s brand identity Support with the development of the Communications/Dissemination Strategy Co-design awareness campaigns, blogs and videos.
