You can make a color a noun by adding le,la,l’,les to the color. The article represents the clothing item you are discussing. Translates to “the pink one” or “the purple ones”. Tu aimes la ceinture blanche ou la ceinture marron? J’aime la blanche. (I like the white one) LA = la ceinture BLANCHE – agrees in color and number with la ceinture.
