DEPLOYMENT OF HIGHER CAPACITY EQUIPMENT a)To meet the increase in demand for Coal in the Country, CIL & its subsidiaries, is moving towards deployment of higher capacity Dump Trucks and Excavators in their mines to ramp up Coal Production. b) BEML being a pioneer in manufacture of Dump Trucks and Excavators for over 5 decades took this as a challenging opportunity.

c)BEML with its National facility of R&D, Designed, Developed and Manufactured 150 Ton Electric Dump Truck, 190 Ton Electric Dump Truck and 180 Ton Excavator, thus demonstrating BEML’s mission for “Self Reliance”. d)Deployment of these equipment in any one of the large Coal Mines of CIL / subsidiaries, will not only help enhance Coal Production but BEML as a domestic company, will get an opportunity to further produce and deploy in larger numbers, as an import substitution, thus saving precious Foreign Exchange.

BEML Submission In view to promote “Make in India” concept & also to contribute in GDP growth as well as import substitution as explained, Ministry of Coal is hereby requested to incorporate the following procurement policy of MoD in the Purchase Manual of Coal India Limited, in addition to the existing purchase policy. Buy (Indian – IDDM) – To promote indigenously developed ( DPP ) high capacity Electric Dump Trucks (150T / 205T capacity) & 10.2 cum Hydro-Electric shovel (BE1800E) MAKE-I (Govt. Funded) – For indigenously development of ( DPP ) 20 cum Electric Rope Shovel & 240T capacity Dumpers
