New France-Quebec 1 st French settlment- Quebec became the center of the fur trade. Samuel de Champlain brought settlers there and to Maine and Nova Scotia

Marquette and Joliet Marquette and Joliet were a French priest and fur trapper that explored the Mississippi River for France.
