On Christmas Day they have Christmas dinner. They eat roast turkey with potatoes and vegetables and then traditional Christmas pudding. The presents are brought by Santa Claus. Children unwrapped the present in the morning on 25 th December

Easter is celebrated on the 1 st Sunday after the 1 st full moon in spring. Actually it starts on Ash Wednesday. It is an ancient pagan celebration of spring and new life. Children believe that while sleeping the Easter Bunny has hidden the eggs in the house and go searching for them.

Is Queen‘s official birthday celebrated on 6 th June. It takes places at Whitehall with Horse Guards‘ Parade. On this day and on New Year‘s Day the Queen awards honours to important people.

Is a day of bonfires and fireworks Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the English parliament. On 5 th November was this conspirator caught and put into the jail. They celebrate this day to remember the unsuccessful attempt of Guy Fawkes.

Is celebrated on the last Thursday of November and it is the second most important holiday after Christmas. When Pilgrim Fathers settled in America in 1620 they suffered a lot during the first winter, most of them died.
