What is GCNet? Ghana Community Network Services Ltd, Incorporated in 2000 and began operations in JV PPP with 35% Public and 65% Private share (SGS holds majority) Mandate to provide an EDI service (TradeNet) and an electronic Customs Management System. TradeNet is the Single Window Platform for Trade Customs system is called GCMS - Ghana Customs Management System.

New Development GoG eGovernment initiative – started with eGhana 2008 and eTransform 2013 with support from World Bank Ghana National Single Window policy document adopted in June 2016 Includes broadening and extending the Single Window Concept – Phase 2. –Includes broadening and extending the Single Window Concept –Key deliverables / objectives: Further reduce cost, improve efficiencies, make Ghana more competitive

New Development –Integrate and interface additional private sector and government entities beyond trade / revenue sector etc –Mid-to-long-term effort next 5-10 years –Strong Government support –Integrated with the Pre Arrival Assessment System (PAARS) as a substitute for Destination Inspection Scheme since Sept

Way forward GCNet to assist Customs achieve WTO TFA requirements and Ghana Revenue Authority modernization efforts. More Investment in Technology provided by GCNet to support integration platform. GCNet will play a major role in the implementation based on its experience and operations on the ground. Evolution of SW concept continues – it is a long journey of continuous improvement
