Xian is the capital of Shaanxi province, located in the southern part of the Guanzhong Plain （关 中平原地区）. Xi’an is recognized as one of the most important cities in China, both historically and currently. Xi’an, called Chang'an in ancient times, has been the capital region for 13 dynastic periods. It also has been the eastern end of the Silk Road( 丝绸之路 ),so Xi'an was the first chinese city to open up its doors to the ancient world.Xi’an is surrounded by natural beauty, including rivers, mountains, plains, and rolling hills. Xian, the eternal city, records the great changes of the chinese nation just like a living history book.

Bell tower

The Bell Tower, is a stately traditional building, that marks the geographical center of the ancient capital. From this important landmark extend East, South, West and North Streets, connecting the Tower to the East, South, West and North Gates of the City Wall of the Ming Dynasty. The wooden tower, which is the largest and best-preserved of its kind in China, is 36 meters high. It stands on a brick base 35.5 meters long and 8.6 meters high on each side. During the Ming Dynasty, Xian was an important military town in Northwest China, a fact that is reflected in the size and historic significance of its tower. The tower was built in 1384 by Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a way to dominate the surrounding countryside and provide early warning of attack by rival rulers.City Wall The tower has three layers of eaves but only two stories. Inside, a staircase spirals up. The grey bricks of the square base, the dark green glazed tiles on the eaves, gold- plating on the roof and gilded color painting make the tower a colorful and dramatic masterpiece of Ming-style architecture. In addition to enhancing the beauty of the building, the three layers of eaves reduce the impact of rain on the building. Big Wild Goose Pagoda As the symbol of the old-line （ 历史 悠久的 ） Xi’an, Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy （ 神圣 的） place for Buddhists （ 佛教 徒）. The full name of Big Wild Goose Pagoda”En Wild Goose Pagoda Temple“ （ 慈恩寺大雁塔）, located 4 kilometers away from Xi’an area of the Grace Temple ( 慈 恩寺 ), built in 652 AD, according to legend Grace Temple is the first abbot presided over the Tang Sancang ( 唐三藏 ) from India after the return of the country, in order to worship and storage classical sanskrit （梵文经典） and buddhist relics （佛像舍利） to design and built personally.

The Terra Cotta Warriors And horses The Terra Cotta Warriors And horses is regarded as one of the eight greatest wonders in the world,and a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China.In 1987,it was listed as one of the world cultural heritages by UNESCO ( 联合国教科文组织 ). As one of the most famous scenic spots in China,it attracts lots of tourists both at home and from abroad.The museum covers an area of 16,300 square meters ， and is divided into three sections ： No.1 Pit ( 坑 ), No.2 Pit,No.3 Pit respectively.They were tagged in the order of their discoveries.There are columns ( 塔器 ) of soldiers at the front,followed by war chariots （战车） at the back.

Hua Mountain Hua Mountain is the highest of China’s five famous mountains. It is located 120 kilometers east of Xi'an, about 3 hours from the city centre. There are five peaks that make up the mountain: Cloud Terrace Peak (North Peak, 1613m)( 北云台峰 ), Jade Maiden Peak (Middle Peak, 2042m)( 中玉女峰 ), Sunrise Peak (East Peak, 2100m)( 东朝阳峰 ), Lotus Peak (West Peak, 2038m) ( 西莲花峰 )and Landing Wild Goose Peak (South Peak, 2160m) ( 南落雁峰 ). North Peak, the lowest of the five peaks, is the starting point.The highest peak is 2160 meters.
