Ask to the Universities How will you design it? Universities present a proposal Universities decide to implement a degree (Bachelor/Master)

Verification process: ANECA approves the proposals of Universities, checking that any degree to be implemented by an University meets the legal requirements established by the Government’s regulations 1.Description of the general characteristics of the Degree 2.Justification of the need of the Degree (according to social needs) 3.Description of learning outcomes to acquire by students 4.Admission process according to national laws 5.Teaching planning 6.Academic Staff (number and expertise) 7.Resources and services (material resources for teaching) 8.Expected Results 9.System for quality assurance 10.Mobility system 11.Realistic implementation schedule 8

Once a university has implemented a programme, it starts an annual follow-up procedure. The MONITOR Programme deals with this part of the process in order to monitor the start-up of the programme supporting universities gradually to improve the teaching offered to their students. GOALS The evaluation of academic degrees and institutions in ANECA 15 INTERNATIONALIZATION! To offer, within some disciplines, the possibility to obtain an international label simultaneously with the compulsory process for ex-post national accreditation.

Starting from 2023, the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in the United States will require foreign medical graduates applying for ECFMG Certification in the US to have graduated from a medical school that is accredited through a formal process using criteria comparable to those established for US medical schools, or other globally accepted criteria, such as those developed by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). 19

CONCLUSIONS The current compulsory accreditation process of the programmes can provide information about the 70% of the WFME standards If one medical school decides to apply for the certification of its IQAS via AUDIT programme, information about the 80% of WFME standards could be obtained 23
