Presentation transcript:

instructor receives strategies, techniques, and support from their peers. opportunity for all to learn from each other. Probationary teachers will have not one mentor, but a team of members to provide family like support.

One formal evaluation process consists of a pre- conference, in-room observation, and post conference done by an administrator yearly. (3 for probationary teachers) Two formal evaluations of every teacher will consist of a pre-conference, a video taped lesson, and a post- conference facilitated by either the Instructional Coach or Instructional Leader. Our evaluation tool is aligned to the Minnesota Teaching Domains.

Portfolio consists of: A professional development plan with a log Pre-Observation Form Video tape of the lesson aligned to the site goal Student work (four samples at three different levels) of the video taped lesson with an evaluation of the work using the Tuning Protocol Post-Observation Form Reflections of Early Release and PLCs Reflection of Monthly Strategy

Each Year Added to Base Salary: Students Achieving Site Goal$ Administrative Evaluation$ st Portfolio Evaluation$ nd Portfolio Evaluation$ $1, SCHOOL-WIDE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT$ PLC ACHIEVEMENT GOAL$ INDIVIDUAL TEACHER EVALUATIONS$1, ACTION RESEARCH$ TOTAL$2,

To accept our application for one year, we had to make these changes: We no longer can get paid for PLC meetings – this means PLC meetings can be held right before school and right after school. Each PLC will have a general goal. Each member will create a Smart Goal aligned to the PLC general goal. If the member achieves his/her goal, he/she will earn $520. The 1 st Portfolio will be similar to what LC did in the past The 2 nd Portfolio will be taped by a trained observer. A new Rubric and Sliding Scale was developed. Payment will be given for Action Research (Monthly Strategy) Reflection.

These changes will help: with the resubmitting of our application by May 15, with the alignment to the Statue 2010, Section 14, Subdivision 8, which will be implemented next year.

We will be meeting in PLC’s today. Set your first meeting date. Spend some time getting to know your new members. LONSDALE – Leader - Anne Pientka Kristen Schlingman – PreK-2 Mary Kunelius 3-4, Special Ed., Music
