Introduction Purpose of the trip : concert, visit a new city Fun facts about Boston :  Named after a town in England  First US subway was built there  Home to the oldest public park in the US

How I Got There : Travel Schedule  Transportation : 2003 Pontiac Sunfire (my car !)  Travel dates : July 30 th - August 2 nd 2007

Where I Stayed The Fairmont Copley Plaza located in downtown Boston

Hotel information  Accommodations : 383 rooms, including 17 suites.  Dining : Room service, restaurant in hotel OAK Long Bar + Kitchen.  Activities & Services : Fitness facilities

Activities Freedom Trail 2.5-mile, red-lined route that leads to 16 historically significant sites

Freedom Trail Paul Revere’s midnight Ride (« The British are coming ! ») Bunker Hill memorial (392 stairs to climb in hot August weather !)

The Boston Public Gardens Oldest gardens in North America !

Boston Harbor One hour boat tour of the beautiful Boston Harbor

Window Shopping on Newberry Street Eight blocks filled with boutiques, designer fashions such as Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Ralph Lauren, and chic restaurants !

Harvard University ? Looking for Harvard University....lost in the city !

Concert Tweeter Center in Mansfield (outside of Boston) Dave Matthews Band live onstage !

Transportation  Car  Subway

Food North-American type food :  pasta  burgers  cheesecake

Language English is the main language in Boston, so it was a good thing we all knew how to speak it well !

Conclusion  Beautiful waterfront city  Many fun, historical activities  Easy to get around  Something for every budget (expect to pay more if downtown)  Highlights : Freedom Trail, Concert  Not so fun : Police incident  Recommendations : use subway, walking shoes
