2 The flight: You will depart from Sioux Falls at 10:55am on December 4th and arrive in Kahului at 9:45 pm. You will have a total of 14 hours flying, round trip. You will have 2 stops on the way, in Chicago and Los Angeles. $ round trip, per person, or $ total. You will rent a car and drive 26 miles to your hotel-$140 for the entire week.

3 The resort: You will be staying in the Royal Lahaina Resort in Kahului, which is a city on the island of Maui The resort offers 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, lei-making lessons, and even free snorkeling lessons! There are also 2 restaurants at the resort, and an ice-cream shop. The room is $250 a night, for a 7 night total of $1,750.

4 Thursday This is a relaxing day on the beach
There is a beach on the hotel grounds, so you won’t need to go far! You can either relax on the shore, or rent snorking equipment for only $15 In the evening, you will dine at Maui Fish and Pasta-$24

5 Thursday Evening You will be eating at Maui Fish and Pasta-$24
They have a very well known sushi chef who prepares only fresh caught fish.

6 Friday On the first day you will be going to the Piiholo Ranch Zipline
It is the longest side-by-side zipline in Hawaii The zipline is a whopping 2,800 feet long! Tours are $90

7 Friday evening Thursday night you will be enjoying a Luau at the resort This Luau is very well known and has been performed for many years The show also includes and all-you-can eat buffet, featuring traditional island food. The buffet plus the show is $216.

8 Saturday Today we will be renting clear bottomed kayaks.-$175
Because of the see-through bottoms, you can view fish, turtles, and other sea life as you paddle, or drift, by.

9 Saturday Evening Friday night you will be eating at Sanei Seafood Restaurant It is a Japanese restaurant featuring sushi Very popular in the area Around $25 for two adults

10 Sunday Today you will be taking a Segway tour of a historical town on the island of Maui It is a tour of the town of Lahaina and not only do you get to enjoy driving Segways around, you might learn something interesting as well! -$140

11 Sunday Evening Saturday evening you will be dining at Makawao Steak House This meal will provide a little taste of home, in case you’re tired of exotic food. It will be around $40 for two adults.

12 Monday Today you will learn how to surf!
You will receive a two hour lesson at the Royal Hawaiian Surf Academy -$130 The first half hour you will learn on the shore, and the rest of the time will be spent riding the waves!

13 Monday evening After a tiring day of surfing, you will eat at one of the resort’s restaurants, the Basil Tomatoes Italian Grille. -$20

14 Tuesday Today you will be hiking through one of Maui’s beautiful rain forest. You will see many waterfalls, and can even climb or swim in them! You will also have a tour guide, who will point out the best sites $80

15 Wednesday This is your last day in Hawaii, so you will be finishing it with what makes Hawaii famous: Beaches. You will be making the short drive to Puamana Beach County Park. This beach proves great swimming areas and waves great for inexperienced surfers -$30 for surfboard rentals Great opportunity to unwind after a long, exciting trip.

16 The (sad) flight home: You will depart from Kahului Airport at 11:33 Wednesday night. You will have short stops in Los Angeles and Chicago, before arriving in Sioux Falls at 5:00 pm. Total of 14 hours of travel time.

18 Conclusion So, as you can see, this trip is full of both adventure and opportunities to wind down and relax. And for a mere 5 grand, I don’t see how you can turn down this chance to visit a real paradise on earth.
