General Information  The London eye is one of the largest Ferris wheels in the world.  It is located in London near the Thames.  The wheel was constructed by David Marks and Julia Barfield.  The height of the wheel is 135 metres.  The total weight of the wheel is 1700 tons.

The London Eye has 32 cabins. Each cabin can take 25 people. The London Eye has 32 cabins. Each cabin can take 25 people. You can see the whole city from the Ferris wheel.

 The wheel works without days off.  Tickets cost: for adults - 16 pounds; for children (from 5 to 15 years) – 8 pounds; for pensioners (aged 60) - 12 pounds.  Children under 5 years are free of charge. 1 pound = 99 roubles.

Interesting Information  Each cabin-capsule weighs 10 tons.  The speed of the wheel is 26 cm per second, 0,9 km per hour.  One turnover of the wheel takes about 30 minutes.  The wheel does not stop to let passengers out and in.  It stops only for old people and invalids.  The London Eye is highlighted in the evening.
