Exposure to diversity outside my major (perspectives, experiences, disciplines) (42%) Tool to develop students into well- rounded individuals (35%) Liberal arts framework/foundation (25%) Core Courses (FYS, GHS, AR…) Overall Core (all aspects) -Requirements (BCR, PCA, ICR) 62% reported benefiting from Core Courses 58% reported benefiting from the Core Overall Requirements for BCR, PCA, and ICR were not officially part of the Core Curriculum for over half of surveyed Alumni, so the majority said these requirements provided little-to-neutral benefit Alumni for whom the Core was official gave significantly higher ratings Overall, these findings reflect growing pains from class to class, highlighting areas for improvement THE CORE CURRICULUM Alumni’s top-of-mind, unprompted descriptions of the Core Q12.
