Critical Relief Needs remain…. District Sangar, UC Kanhar, inundated with water, around 15,000 people in acute humanitarian need. Summary of rapid assessment: Villages are only just becoming accessible in the last 15 days and up to 50 % of people returned Almost all the homes are completely destroyed, but a few structures remain.. Safe drinking water is the priority. High levels of diarrhoea, closest drinking water source was about 7 km away. They fetch water by donkey cart every day which costs them 1000 pkr per day Malaria and skin diseases also reported to be prevalent., which could become a serious problem; water could be removed if a pump was available. A. Kanhar UC - Sanghar district Hands - has promised to install WTU UNICEF - SSFA signed with FRDP for 2,000 families in village Ameen Chandio. Water supply through mobile water treatment unit with capacity of 70,000/day, dewatering of selected areas under water, standard family hygiene kits and NFIs along with hygiene promotion activities for one month B. Umerkot ( Bustan, Padrio, Sherkhan Chandio UCs) ACTED and other member agencies are asked to develop a funding proposal for Rapid fund to address the relief needs in these UCs UNICEF - SSFA with AWARE for 2,500 families in Sherkhan Chandio UC with a standard WASH package. KP/FATA Update: Khyber Displacement

KP/FATA Update: Current situation From January to March (24th), an additional 15,492 IDP families from Khyber, of which 5,570 families have opted to reside in Jalozai Camp, bringing the total current Jalozai population to 10,796 families, Updated planning figures are: – a total of 33,000 potential displacement (in addition to Khyber IDPs from 2011). – 12,000 are expected to reside in Jalozai Camp, An additional one or two registration points will be set up to facilitate off-camp registration, WASH priorities: 1) increase service provision in Jalozai, 2) provision of WASH NFIs, 3) basic WASH services at registration points, 4) define possible and critical assistance to the off-camp population, Additional interventions for off-camp have not yet been elaborated on.

KP/FATA Update WASH services are being provided to the entire camp population and visitors, irrespective of their enlisting or registration. WASH facilities are being provided to all the people opting for living in the camp. – 466 toilets, 234 washrooms, 131 water tanks and 93 washing pads have been installed – 15,946 Hygiene kits, 15,946 water buckets and 15,946Jerry cans. – Solid waste collection and disposal is also underway through private contractors hired by implementing partners. – Hygiene education, 11,300 sessions conducted thus far Challenges – UNICEF only player in camp… – Funding, critical – Security
