2 Objective Fuel Tanker Roll Over Exercise This table top exercise is designed to be utilised by individuals or multiple members to explore the complexities of a (Fuel) Tanker roll over from a brigade perspective. – Even though the focus today is on Fuel Tankers, it should also inform your thinking about any bulk Tanker, especially HazMat It is designed so that the participants can work through the slides and answer a series of hypothetical questions.

3 How big is the risk? Fuel Tanker Roll Over Exercise What is the frequency of bulk (fuel) tankers in your area? –What other Bulk Tankers are common, LPG/Acids/Alkali’s, chemical,… Where are the identified accident black spots in your area?

4 Preplanning for the incident Fuel Tanker Roll Over Exercise What equipment is available in your brigade and surrounding brigades that may be useful for a (Fuel) Tanker roll over? –Brigade –Group –District –Beyond….by whom? How early do you identify it’s beyond local resourcing, and what do you then do about it?

5 Preplanning for the incident Fuel Tanker Roll Over Exercise What are your usual arrangements for TFB’s? –Can you adapt this planning for major incidents? Do you have a preplan for Tanker rollovers, spills, HazMat?

6 Response Fuel Tanker Roll Over Exercise What is your usual response to –“Car accident - possible persons trapped, and washaway” How many members would respond direct to call? –How would they communicate back to the appliances that it is a major incident Who knows how to manually operate the Motor Room doors?
