Nonfiction Notes, Part 2: Reference Aids

Encyclopedia A book that covers a wide range of information and is usually many volumes.

Newspaper Recent local, state, and national news, events, entertainment, and weather.

Almanac A book published once a year containing calendars, statistics, and other information in different fields.

Atlas A book of maps

Reader’s Guide A book listing magazine articles by subject

Card Catalog Source for finding books by subject, author, and title.
