Interesting facts about the tuba  The tuba is made of brass and is one of the brass instruments in the orchestra.  The tuba was invented by Willhelm Wieprecht and Johann Moritz in September 12,  Tuba is a Latin word meaning trumpet or horn.  Tubas were introduced into the orchestra to replace the ophicleide.
