The Taiga biome is the largest of the biomes in the world. It is located at the top of the world right bellow the Tundra biome and it spans across Eurasia.
The Taiga biome stretches across a large portion of Canada, Europe and Asia. It is the largest biome in the world. Winters are cold and summers are warm.

Taiga Biomes By Skylor Burris

Animals Thees are just some of the animals in a taiga biome.

Taiga Fires Taiga fires happen almost every month.

Taiga Waters There are many different kinds of streams, rivers, and lakes in a taiga biome.

Taiga Location This is were taigas are located.

.. Climate The climate of the Taiga is very cold. Climate affects the composition of the soil making needles decompose slower, which makes rich soil develop more slowly.

Plants Not many plants can live in the Taiga due to harsh weather. Some plant life that does survive there are coniferous trees such as, pine, spruce, hemlock, and fir trees. Forestry is the worst threat to the plants.

Interesting Information. One of the most interesting parts of the taiga is the muskeg. Some trees growing in the taiga have shallow roots. If stepped on, this could cause a substantial earthquake in the area. Forests with muskeg are often called a "drunken forest" because earthquakes cause "S" shaped trunks.

., Interesting Information There are many interesting occurrences in the taiga. Sometimes branches twist together and create a deep shade on the ground. Another interesting fact is that less protected areas of the taiga are covered by willow, birch, and miniature spruce. Tall trees get blown over these trees and form a krumholz.

Taiga Facts The world's oldest trees are the bristle cone pines found in California. One of them is 4,600 year old. Now that's OLD!

Taiga Biomes The winters are up to six months with mean temperatures and short summers. They have frost free days.
