Presentation transcript:

AnyQuestions.co.nz AnyQuestions.co.nz is a new and innovative interactive service powered by a team of live online librarians. Students can talk online in real time with a librarian and be helped to search and find quality resources to match their school work needs. The service connects them with safe, relevant, reliable information, where and when they need it. It’s a FREE service for all New Zealand school children and really easy to use. Three librarians are online during service hours

It’s all in real time so no need to wait The service is one-to-one, and does not use chat rooms. There’s no need for any new software, students can use their normal browser. Our experienced and trained online librarians can help students find the information they need from relevant, quality sources. The service focuses on supporting the New Zealand curriculum, and is accessible from any internet computer anywhere.

AnyQuestions.co.nz is a collaborative service provided by library, information and education agencies of New Zealand. The service aims to support New Zealand school children’s learning by making them one click away from an online librarian. The service uses interactive software customised for New Zealand use to guide students around the internet. It aims to complement information students can find in their school and public library. This collaborative service is one of the most ambitious and exciting digital reference projects the country has seen.

How to ask a question 1.Click the “Log-on” button on the AnyQuestions.co.nz homepage 2.Choose whether you’d like to ask a librarian a question or search our databases yourself 3.If you want to ask a question, fill in your details and click the “Log-on” button 4.We’ll do a quick check to make sure your computer works with our service. 5.Stay online and wait to talk to a librarian.

Who will answer questions? Students will be connected to an online librarian from one of several libraries around New Zealand. Service delivery members include: The National Library of New Zealand Auckland City Libraries Christchurch City Libraries Manukau City Libraries Wellington City Libraries Ministry of Education
