Temperate Rainforest Biome Research By Dawson Kelley

Temperate Rainforest Geography & Climate Location: Europe and North America Description: New Zealand, Southern Chile, and pacific Northwest of the U.S. Precipitation: cm yearly Temperature Range: 9-12 degrees Celsius

Temperate Rainforest Biodiversity Plant Species: Douglas fir, Western red cedar, Spruce, Mosses, Lichens. Animal species: black bears, cougar, bobcat, endangered northeastern spotted owl, threatened marbled murrelet, salamander, wolf,, lynx, elk, deer, salmon.

Temperate Rainforest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: Birds eat cones when they fall from trees, deer feed on the grass Abiotic: water helps trees grow, water such as streams support amphibians.

What is Biodiversity? Biodiversity is the variety of life in a specific biome or ecosystem.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? If we didn’t have biodiversity then the ecosystem would crash because there would be no life.
