Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu / New UAS in 2017 On 1 January 2017, Kymenlaakso UAS and Mikkeli UAS will merge and form a new university of applied sciences. The President and the Rector is Dr Heikki Saastamoinen. The Vice President and the Vice Rector is Dr Mirja Toikka. Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu / Multidisciplinary R&D&I Kyamk aims to generate multidisciplinary, strategy based research projects, which are tightly connected to teaching. R&D&I focuses strongly on special fields chosen by Kyamk. Measured by the total budget of all projects the value of the project portfolio is about EUR 10 million, of which the annual turnover is EUR 4,5 million. Kyamk’s 60 projects are implemented by 200 employees (approx. 65 person-year).

Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu / Library and Learning Technology Services The Library and Learning Technology Services supports teaching and learning as well as research, innovation, and development activities. In addition to traditional library services, the unit provides support for web-based teaching and learning. The services are mainly intended for the students and staff of the Kymenlaakso and Mikkeli Universities of Applied Sciences, and our contracting parties. The libraries are, nevertheless, open to all, and the library services are also available for outside customers with certain limitations.
