2 Estonia Estonia is situated in the Baltic region of Northern Europe.
It is bordered by the Gulf of Finland in the North, by the Baltic Sea in the west, by Latvia in the south and by the Russian Federation in the east. The territory is 45,227 km2 and the population 1,3 million.

is Tallinn. Tallinn's Old Town is in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Estonia is a democratic parliamentary republic. Estonia is divided into 15 counties. Estonian coastline is about km-s long. The official language is Estonian.

Pre-school education is provided at kindergartens (Lasteaed) or other pre-school childcare institutions, and is not a part of the formal education system Pre-primary education is for children aged 3 till 7 It is financed by local municipality, parents, donations

Is the minimum general education that is obligatory for everybody Children from the age of 7 have to attend school until they acquire basic education or attain 17 Basic education is tuition free and financed by state and municipalities Acquisition of basic education gives the right to continue studies for acquiring secondary education

Acquisition of general secondary education gives the right to continue studies on higher education level Is acquired in an upper secondary school ( 10 to 12) No tuition is charged for studying in state and municipal schools of general education Admission to upper secondary schools is based on the results of finishing basic school Upper secondary school final examinations include state and school examinations.

9 The Education System Secondary vocational education
may be acquired after graduating from basic school. It usually lasts at least 3 years. After that it is possible to focus on preparing for state examinations for one year and attend the university. Vocational education can be obtained by people who do not have basic education as well as by people who have Vocational education based on secondary education is provided in professions and specialties, which require secondary education. Vocational education is financed mainly by the state

22 Achievements The number of students has increased from 490 to 824.
The number of specialties has increased from 7 to 30. With the achieved places at the vocational competitions in Estonia our school is on the fourth position. We have been supposed among the five most successful promoters of international work among all the vocational schools of Estonia and we were awarded the VET Mobility Charter in 2016.
