Cuban Missile Crisis

Tensions between the Soviet Union and the United States were at a high. USSR building missile sites in Cuba. Kennedy orders a "quarantine" to be created around Cuba. Why not a blockade? Khrushchev will eventually send Kennedy a message asking the following: remove missiles from Turkey, end of the quarantine, and to stay out of Cuba. In exchange, Khrushchev would remove the missiles from Cuba. Led to the Limited Test Ban Treaty.
