MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 2 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Objective The TST is a structured planning and decision-making group who determine the payload training requirements for each payload or complement of payloads or experiments. The TST is organized and lead by the Ops Lead and is comprised of the Payload Developer (PD), JSC Astronaut Office Representative, Procedure Author (Ops Lead or PD), Payload Display Review Team (PDRT), and the Crew Training, and Coordinator (CTC). Payload training requirements, and what will be needed to fulfill those requirements for crewmembers, are discussed, defined, and agreed upon during this process.

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 4 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama Project Overview The study of meteors provides information on Near Earth Objects such as their size, orbit, population and, possibly, origin  Since the parent comets or asteroids for most of the meteor showers are identified, the studies of the meteoroid dust on orbit are compatible of the exploration of the parent comets and asteroids  The observation targets of Meteor include meteoroids and dust trails of the specific meteor showers and sporadic meteors.  Image analysis is expected to provide information relative to physical and chemical properties of the meteoroid dust, such as size, density, and chemical composition  In addition, multiband observation within visible and possibly near-infrared wavelengths will be also conducted These data will be used to define the physical and chemical nature of meteor showers and possible difference among them.  A space-based observation of meteors would provide a means for global observation of meteors Previously, most observations have been done from the ground which provides only a narrow observation range and is dependent upon weather conditions Meteor will provide real flux data of the meteoroids for the each meteor shower can be first observed from the orbit of the International Space Station (ISS)

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 10 NASA MSFC Engineering Directorate Huntsville, Alabama  Based on training comments from previous crewmembers, if payload requires no special skills then self-study Computer Based Trainer (CBT) or On-Board Training (OBT) or video is recommended.  OBT can be scheduled closer to actual operations so training information is still fresh in crewmembers mind for operations.
