Sound 2 nd Grade Anthony Autumn Clay Demere Liliana Layth Tyquan

Sound Sound is heard from vibration. Sound can be high or low. Sound travels through sound waves. We hear sound with our ears.

Vibrations Vibrations occur when something shakes back and forth really fast. Sound is heard by vibrations moving the air. If there were no air there would be no sound.

Sound Waves Sound waves are vibrations in the air. Sound waves travel through the air and when it hits someone ear they can hear the sound. The waves can bounce off of objects and can move things in its path. Sound waves travel best through the water.

Pitch Pitch is how high or low the sound waves are heard. Pitch is caused by vibrations. The longer the vibration, the lower the sound. The shorter the vibration the higher the sound.

Volume Volume is how loud or soft a sound is heard. Volume is a limit of how loud or soft a sound gets. The sound volume depends on how big the vibrations become.

Vocal Chords Vocal chords are a piece of your body you use to make sound. Vocal chords are found in your throat. Air travels past the chords to make sound. You make your vocal chords short you get a high sound when your vocal chords are long you get a low sound.

Making an Instrument Materials: Rice, tissue roll, silly bands, tissue paper, tin foil, and paper. Steps to make: 1.Get the tissue roll 2.Wrap the piece of paper around one end of the roll and fasten with the silly bands. 3. Put In the rice. 4.Fasten the other side with tin foil, tissue paper, and silly bands. 5.Shake Carefully! You have made a Maraca
