Luggage Drive Presentation Brenna Smith University of North Carolina at Pembroke

Agency  Bladen County Department of Social Services  About 56 children in Foster Care  Last Luggage drive 2008

Why  Each year children are moved from place to place with everything they own in a trash bag. Help make it stop. You can end this viscous cycle by donating gently used luggage, so at least on their next move they can carry some dignity

Logistics  Choose a location for people to drop off luggage  Pick dates to start and end drive  Set a goal of how many pieces we want to collect

Tell Everyone  Print posters and hang everywhere ( website can provide poster via , or we can come up with our own)  Use social media to let the world know  Ask business and personal neighbors to support our campaign by collecting new and slightly used luggage, duffle bags and diaper bags (see list).

Collect and Deliver  After all luggage’s have been collected, load it up and distribute it to local group homes and foster care homes.
