National Defence Academy (NDA)
Introduction Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the NDA I and NDA II exam for selection of the candidates in the India defence services Army, Naval Force Air Force.
Exam are conducted twice a year. Fill in a total of 320 NDA vacancies, including 208 in Army, 42 in Navy and 70 in Air Force. Apart from that, 55 vacancies in Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme) will also be filled up through the process.
Selection process Eligible candidates have to appear for the written exam. Qualifying candidates of NDA are called for SSB Interview, which carries 900 marks and is conducted in two stages. Stage I contains of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT).
Stage II comprises Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and Conference at the SSB centre.
Eligibility criteria Must be a citizen of India Required to be appearing or have qualified 10+2 board exam. Must be unmarried and male. Age – yrs.
Exam Pattern Exam duration is 5 hours and it is conducted in around 41 cities across India. Questions from Mathematics and General Ability are asked. Total marks is 900 marks Negative Marking is applicable in written exam and one-third marks are deducted for a wrong response.
Syllabus Divided in two papers – Mathematics and General Ability Test. Written exam is of a total of 900 marks, Mathematics -300 marks and General Ability marks. Written exam is of 2 hours and 30 minutes
