When critiquing art: Describe- list what you see. Do not make assumptions or try to interpret work. Analyze- what elements were used, and how are they organized by the principles? Interpret- what is the subject matter? What is the work about? What was the artist trying to say? Judge- is the artwork successful? Why do you think this way?

The Skeen family of Pearland, Texas, outside their home with all of their possessions. Published in Material World: A Global Family Portrait, pages Ricky Skeen, 36, and his wife Pattie Skeen, 34, with their two children, Michael, 7 and Julie, 10. Material World Project.
