A Project by ABHISHEK N (1P909EC001) YASHAS B R (1PI09EC129) J CHETAN (1PI09EC051) Guided by Ms. ANNAPOORNA K Y DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING PES INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

 Using this system, you can control the IR-remote- controlled home appliances like DVD player and air- conditioner from another room without the hassle of running extra cables between the two rooms.  The system wirelessly sends infrared signals from one room to another.  The system is a combination of an infrared transmitter unit and a receiver unit, both housed in separate small plastic boxes.

 The transmitter unit is kept in the room along with the remote control of the appliance to be controlled (say, a DVD player), while the receiver unit has to be kept on or nearby the DVD player in another room.  The transmitter detects the IR pulses from the remote and retransmits on the UHF band at 433 MHz.  The receiver unit (in another room) picks up the transmitted signals used by IR remote systems.  IR pulses from a pair of IR LEDs provide controlling signals to the DVD player located in the other room.

IR detector Transmitter (TX-433) Power supply Remote

 TSOP1738  NAND GATES  VOLTAGE REGULATOR  TX433  TRANSISTORS  RESISTORS  ZENER DIODE

 Complete RF Transmitter Module no external components and no tuning required.  Architecture with a Maximum Range of 100 mts at 4800 bps(bytes per second) data rate.  Interface directly to Encoders and Microcontrollers with ease.  Low Power Consumption suitable for battery operated devices

Block diagram of TX433

 Miniaturized receivers for infrared remote control systems.  The demodulated output signal can directly be decoded by a microprocessor.  Continuous data transmission possible(up to 2400 bps).  Photo detector and preamplifier in one package.  High immunity against ambient light.  Output active HIGH.

This picture shows the IR signal from the remote being transmitted through the transmitter to the receiving unit which controls the equipment.

Receiver ( TSOP1738) IR Emitter Power supply Remote controlled device (TV)

This picture shows the receiver unit placed near the equipment which is to be controlled by the remote.

 In Industries, where a large number or a group of electrical appliances are to be controlled, this device is much useful.  In every home we use many electrical appliances switched on and off manually.  Automotive remote entry systems.  Gate and garage door openers.

 Easy operation  Low cost  Simple  Convenient  Because of these features, the system is more useful in controlling different electrical appliances.

 Transmitter circuit is analyzed and designed.  Required components were bought.  Transmitter circuit is almost in the stage of completion.
