About Energy Trust

Who is Energy Trust of Oregon Energy Trust of Oregon, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing how Oregonians use energy by promoting energy efficiency and clean renewable energy for Oregon customers of Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas.

Who is Eligible? Oregon customers of: Portland General Electric Pacific Power NW Natural Cascade Natural Gas The project must pay or plan to pay the public purposes charge. The project site must be located in Oregon. The project must be a commercial, industrial, manufacturing or institutional building.

Energy Trust incentives

Custom incentives Incentives are structured at 50 percent of the incremental cost between standard and high efficiency equipment not to exceed $1 per therm. All measures must have quantified energy savings along with an incentive offer from the program prior to purchase & installation of equipment. Projects eligible for Energy Trust’s custom incentives typically require an engineering study or other technical assistance in the project design process. All equipment purchases must receive pre-approval from the Existing Buildings program to qualify for incentives.

Participation process

Standard incentive process Contact us*. Find a contractor. Install your new qualified equipment. Submit Form 120P-Incentive application along with the contractor invoice(s), utility bill and IRS form W-9 to the address listed on the form. Receive your check within four to six weeks after all required paperwork has been received. *Note: A post-installation inspection may apply if your incentive is over $5,000.

Custom incentive process Contact us*. Submit Form 100E –Energy information release to enroll your project. Proceed with technical study, if needed. Receive Form 110C–Project detail and incentive estimate from program representative. Receive contractor bids. Sign Form 120C–Incentive offer and agreement. Implement project. Submit contractor invoice(s), utility bill, IRS Form W-9 and Form 140C– Completion certification to the address listed on the form. Receive your check within four to six weeks after all required paperwork has been received. * Note: A post-installation inspection may apply if your incentive is over $5,000.
