Assessment of the PASS skills will continue to be our accountability system as we begin to teach DEEPER into the Common Core and HIGHER on the pyramid of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Unlike PASS, students will be expected to respond in writing - developing an informed opinion, explaining and defending their answers. The CCSS Assessments are said to “look” a lot like Advanced Placement exams.

One transition strategy is to get more kids enrolled in AP and Pre-AP classes and more kids taking AP tests. Another transition strategy is to provide multiple opportunities for teachers to receive training in Advanced Placement strategies from College Board.
