Significant Safety Achievements- 3/16 The WPC Activity Lead self-assessment project have started. Meetings are being held with all Activity Leads to obtain their feedback. The annual ISM Plan update was completed and sent out for signatures. An old sample/chemical clean-out was completed in the lab area. The final two trays of samples in (Kerr) were identified and disposed. The end of a long journey! Work Activities were developed for: –FLEXLAB CO2 Injection System – Glove Box Removal Project –Cyclotron Road Potter Street Lab General Access Safety Alerts were issued for: – Incompatible Chemical Storage – Food and Drink Restrictions in Technical Areas Efforts continue in closing out “conditionally approved” and “failed” electrical equipment. A number of hallways cabinets in Building 70 were cleaned out. Old electrical equipment and a small amount of chemicals/cylinders were removed. Chemical Management System (CMS) inventory reconciliations were completed in and

Short Term Safety Outlook 4/16 Complete the WPC Activity Lead Self Assessment project. Complete the Nanomaterial Self Assessment project. Data has been compiled. Ensure lab areas are prepared for the upcoming DOE NFPA 45 chemical safety assessment. Develop training materials for the new chemical spill cleanup kits. Continue to address all remaining ETA equipment on the electrical equipment “conditionally authorized” and “failed” lists. Continue removal of old equipment from B70 hallway cabinets. Items that are retained will require inspection/repair. Assist with the old glove box removal in Continue old chemical clean-outs. Conduct the quarterly Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) inspections. Conduct ETA Safety Committee meeting 4/7/16 A number of old “lecture bottle” gas cylinders are being scheduled for disposal.
