Important Achievements Emperor Claudius built two aqueducts: the Aqua Claudia and Anio Novus. Then soon, he restored a third, Aqua Virgo. Claudius also built roads and bridges for his people. The last part of Claudius’ plan was to make the amount of bountiful land in Italy larger. He achieved this in the 19 th centur, ending up producing over 160,000 new acres of lush lands, causing the Claudian tunnel to grow three times bigger than its regular size.

Critical Failures He didn’t always hold proper trials in court He gave important positions in his office to former slaves, some of who took advantage of him and misled him. He had bad judgments when choosing a wife

Story of Ascension Emperor Claudius came to power because his nephew [the emperor of that time] was stabbed to death by a few of the palace guards who were spying on him.

Personality Some historians believe he was… Unsocial Forgetful/Distractive Cautious Cruel Determined Spontaneous Wise

Significant Events During His Reign Was 23 when he began his reign During his reign, the Roman Empire grew in size

Religious Beliefs Emperor Claudius was a very religious person, believing strongly in the Roman gods/goddesses. He helped rid of certain holidays/festivals, renewing and making better the ones that were already set in place.

Story of Descension Emperor Claudius was most likely murdered by eating mushrooms containing poison. Claudius died when he was 64 years old, a very early age for people at that time. Some historians say that he died in Rome, but some disagree and say that he ended up dying in Sinuessa.
