Set during the American Civil War, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" is the story of Peyton Farquhar, a Confederate sympathizer condemned to die by hanging upon the Owl Creek Bridge of the title.

Peyton Farquhar who is a main character was a confederate sympathizer. He was attempt to demolish the bridge, and Subsequently he was caught in the act. Eventually he was condemned to die by hanging at owl creek bridge in Alabama.Alabama.
